This setup is strictly for my own personal use. I miss a lot of the features it had for live recording (Effects, mixing, etc.) ![]() AA1.5 was my primary DAW when I first started writing my own music, but either was incapable of - or I never figured out how to - edit midi tracks, so I switched to Acid. ![]() ![]() The only other DAW I have any experience with to any real extent is Adobe Audition (1.5 / 3.0). My current primary computer is an Asus G75VX laptop running Windows 8.1. Here are a couple of screenshots of my normal workflow (Linked, too big to embed). One of the biggest things I am worried about losing at this point is the ability to edit midi tracks (including velocity) with relative ease. VSTs I use include Superior 2.0, Trilian, Massive, FM8, and a bunch of other free vst's I have picked up along the way. I used to record some acoustic guitars and acoustic drums using mics, which was handled with an M-Audio 2496 card, but I have been moving away from desktops lately, so most everything I do is USB-based. I record guitars and bass via a Line 6 Pod X3, and track drums using a MegaDrum module. ![]() I've been using Sony Acid for about 6-7 years now, so I am very comfortable with it, But I am starting to think I could be getting more / better quality out of my music with something different.Īcid was designed to be primarily loop-based, and this is something I have never needed. I am looking for an alternative DAW to replace Acid Pro with. I know you guys probably answer thousands of these questions a day, so I will attempt to keep it as brief but detailed as possible.
